A Haynes and Boone, LLP deal team led by Mergers and Acquisitions and Investment Management Partner Kellie Bobo represented horticultural container manufacturer HC Companies in its sale to Platinum Equity. The deal was signed on July 12 and closed Aug. 1.
HC Companies produces a wide range of sustainable planters, pots and greenhouse/nursery accessories manufactured and distributed across six locations in the U.S. and Canada.
Haynes Boone has maintained a longstanding relationship with the company since its inception, when Wingate Partners acquired Myers Industries Lawn & Garden to form HC Companies in 2015. That transaction earned Haynes Boone the Consumer Goods Deal of the Year Award at the 2015 M&A Atlas Americas Middle Market Awards.
"We are excited about this new chapter, which presents an opportunity for HC to redouble our commitment to innovation, expansion and customer service," said HC Companies President and CEO Bob Mayer in a prepared statement. Mayer will continue leading the business following the transaction.
In addition to Bobo, Haynes Boone M&A Practice Group Chair Tom Harris, Partner Zach Burnett and Associates Dillon Sebasco and Alexandria Pencsak were also on the team representing HC Companies in the transaction.
