Haynes Boone Welcomes Capital Markets Partner Will Davis in Houston

May 20, 2026

Haynes Boone has added its second new partner to the firm’s Houston office in the past month with the arrival of Will Davis, who joins the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group. His addition follows that of Energy Partner Sudan I. Maccio, who advises clients evaluating opportunities in Venezuela amid shifts in U.S. sanctions policy.

Davis joins Haynes Boone from Dentons, where he was a partner in the Corporate & Securities group. He brings a balanced corporate practice spanning capital markets and mergers and acquisitions, with significant experience advising clients on complex domestic and cross-border transactions.

His work includes public and private securities offerings, SEC reporting and compliance, domestic and cross‑border M&A, private equity transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and general corporate governance matters. He has notable experience across the energy, healthcare, life sciences, mining and private equity sectors.

“Will is exactly the kind of partner who elevates our Houston office and strengthens our ability to serve clients across industries and regions,” said Houston Office Managing Partner Ricardo GarciaMoreno. “His proven capital markets and M&A background, combined with his international experience, makes him an exceptional addition to our Capital Markets group and a strong match for our clients’ needs.”

A native Texan based in Houston since 2004, Davis has built a practice that spans the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia. He has represented clients in transactions involving more than 45 countries, including significant work in the energy and mining industries, areas where Haynes Boone’s global teams, including lawyers in our London office and those advising Canadian clients, have seen substantial growth.

“When I considered my next professional step, I knew I needed a firm with strong bench strength and a practical approach to client service,” Davis said. “I’ve long respected Haynes Boone, and close friends here have always spoken highly of the firm. It’s a talented group, and it’s clear this is the right environment for me and for the clients I serve.”

Houston continues to be a major engine of cross‑border and energy‑focused deal activity for the firm, highlighted recently by Haynes Boone’s role advising Diversified Energy on its $850 million assetbacked securitization refinancing – one of several significant transactions led out of Houston in the past year.

The office’s momentum was also underscored in a recent Chambers Associate feature spotlighting Houstons thriving legal market and the firms growing influence within it. That growth includes the addition of Maccio, who brings extensive experience advising clients on complex international transactions, particularly in Latin America, complementing the expanding global energy and mining matters handled by the firm’s U.S. and UK teams.

Haynes Boone’s Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group advises on high-value public offerings, including IPOs, PIPEs, reverse mergers and dual listings. The team has led landmark deals across mining, energy, tech, life sciences and financial services, including one of the largest IPOs in LSE history and the first Nasdaq-LSE dual listing of this century. Clients rely on our cross-border experience and integrated counsel across major U.S., U.K. and global exchanges for securities transactions, compliance and REIT structuring.
