3 Haynes Boone Lawyers Join 2022 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellows and Pathfinders Programs

Three Haynes and Boone, LLP lawyers have been selected to participate in the 2022 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows and Pathfinders Programs. Partner Raquel Alvarenga has been named a Fellow, and Associates CJ Donald and Judy He will participate in the Pathfinders Program.

 

Founded in 2009, LCLD is an organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners — the leadership of the profession — who have pledged themselves, through our Leaders at the Front initiative and other means, to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. LCLD programs are designed to prepare diverse young lawyers for leadership roles in the profession.

As a member of the Fellows program, Raquel will participate in an intensive, yearlong professional development program that mentors the legal industry’s diverse leaders of tomorrow through virtual and in-person class meetings, with opportunities to interact with key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations, and leadership lunches hosted by LCLD Member organizations featuring a managing partner or general counsel.

 

Raquel is a member of the Labor and Employment practice group in Haynes Boone’s Dallas office. She represents corporate clients in all manner of labor and employment matters, including advice and counseling, litigation, and internal investigations. Raquel has extensive experience litigating all manner of labor and employment disputes, including cases involving alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, misappropriation of trade secrets, wage-and-hour claims, and breach of contract.

 

CJ and Judy are in the 2022 class of the LCLD Pathfinders Program, a seven-month professional program designed to train high-performing, early-career attorneys on foundational leadership and relationship-building. The program provides participants with practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks, foundational leadership skills, and an understanding of career development strategies. Each Pathfinder is matched with a Program Facilitator to serve as a mentor in helping one connect what they learn in the program to the organization at which they work.

 

CJ is an associate in the Finance Practice Group in the firm’s Dallas office. His practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions, private equity firms, and commercial borrowers in a variety of financial transactions. CJ also has experience with a variety of corporate matters, representing clients in the entertainment, hospitality, and sports industries.

 

Judy’s practice focuses on IP litigation in federal courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board involving various technologies, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer products. Judy is a leader of several organizations, including the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI), Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC), and Women in Bio – National (WIB).
