May 07, 2025

D CEO and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Dallas/Fort Worth named Haynes Boone Partner Janice Davis the 2025 Attorney of the Year at the 12th Annual Mergers and Acquisitions Awards.

D CEO and the ACG – DFW honor the top dealmakers, acquisitions, dispositions and other financial transactions from the past year at the awards ceremony each spring.

Haynes Boone Partners Brent Beckert and Kellie Bobo were also finalists for the award.

"I am deeply honored and humbled, as well as incredibly grateful, to be recognized as the Attorney of the Year,” Davis said. “This award is a testament to the clients and talented colleagues who have been involved with my transactions this past year, so I would like to extend my gratitude to them for their support, trust and excellent work. Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners”

As Attorney of the Year, Davis is featured on D Magazine’s website:

In 2024, Davis was responsible for $3 billion worth of deals. With industries spanning roofing supply and private equity to aluminum recycling, Davis—who left Morgan, Lewis & Bockius to join Haynes Boone last month—manages teams of professionals ranging from five to 30 lawyers. With more than 35 years of experience in the field, she is so trusted by her clients that she often serves as outside counsel for their litigation matters and guides the firms’ complex M&A transactions. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she was a CPA.

Haynes Boone’s Corporate Practice Group is international in scope and is more than 100 lawyers strong. It is a dominant force in middle-market M&A and private equity, with exceptional capital markets and corporate securities capabilities. That includes cross-border work supported by the offices in London, Mexico City and Shanghai. The group represents a wide range of clients traded on all of the major U.S. securities exchanges as well as foreign markets. The attorneys serve as outside securities counsel to more than 40 public companies, ranging from U.S. small-caps to multinational large-cap corporations, as well as their senior executives and boards of directors.
