Haynes and Boone Helps Leading Educational Services Firm Land Significant Investment

May 21, 2021
A Haynes and Boone, LLP deal team advised engage2learn ("e2L"), which announced May 12 that it had landed an investment from New York-based private equity firm Leeds Equity Partners.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In a joint announcement, Leeds and e2L, a provider of professional development coaching and technology tools serving districts in the public K-12 market, said the investment will enable e2L to expand its K-12 professional development coaching and technology capabilities, strengthening its ability to support teachers with evidence-based best practices, improve student outcomes and accelerate learning for all learners. Leeds Equity partners with talented management teams to drive innovation in leading companies across the Knowledge Industries.

A cross-office and multi-practice Haynes and Boone team represented e2L in the matter, including Partner Greg Samuel and Associates Brent Beckert and Cameron Scales from the firm’s Corporate Practice. They were joined by Counsel Scott Thompson and Associate Lucy Hong (Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation); Partners Lauren White and Don Shiman (Tax); and Counsel Raquel Alvarenga (Labor and Employment).

Cowen and Company, LLC served as financial advisor to e2L.
