Haynes Boone Advises on Merger of Datalec Power Installations and 3C in $400 Million Business Combination

October 29, 2026

Haynes Boone guided Datalec Power Installations Limited, a London-based data center engineering specialist, through its merger with 3C, a liquid-cooling-led data center infrastructure services company, to create 3C Datalec, a global platform serving the growing demand for AI data center infrastructure.

The transaction positions the combined business of 3C Datalec to accelerate its international growth and expand its technical capabilities as demand for AI infrastructure continues to increase.

The Haynes Boone team advising Datalec brought together the firm’s London and U.S. teams, with a corporate team led by London Partner Tom Ferns and Counsel Natalie Georgiou working with U.S. Partner Dan Malone and Associate Kaeden Bauman.

The team was assisted by London Partner Robert Bines-Black and Associates Chris Orford and Anthony Kiani-Nasseri.

The combination of Datalec and 3C brings together complementary capabilities across liquid cooling, mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing, connectivity and facilities management. The combined business forecasts 2026 revenue of more than $400 million and has approximately 1,000 team members, with operations and manufacturing facilities across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and North America.

“Datalec has established a strong reputation in the data center infrastructure market, and this transaction represents an important opportunity to build on that foundation as demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow,” Ferns said. “We were pleased to advise Datalec on this significant transaction and support them through this next phase of development.”

Haynes Boone has emerged as a leader in the data center and digital infrastructure sector globally, advising clients across a range of transactions and projects. Recent matters include advising Provident Data Centers on a joint venture for data center development in Dallas-Fort Worth, Electronic Power Design on a sale to Voltaris Power and Contabo on its U.S. data center expansion.
