Haynes Boone Counsels Penta Operating in Sale of Jack’s Convenience Stores to Monfort Companies

A Haynes Boone deal team served as legal counsel to Penta Operating, LLC, in the sale of a number of Jack’s Convenience Stores and an oil change and car wash to an affiliate of Monfort Companies.

Associate Brent Beckert, Partner Greg Samuel and Associate Rachael Williams served as M&A counsel for Penta, with assistance from Counsels Raquel Alvarenga (Labor/Employment) and Scott Thompson (Benefits), Partners Mary Mendoza (Environmental), David Taubenfeld (Insurance) and Brad Holdbrook (Real Estate), and Associate Maddie Ballard (Real Estate).

Jack’s Convenience Stores sold eight petroleum marketing and convenience retail stores and one Jack’s Lube & Wash oil change and car wash location to an affiliate of Monfort Companies, a Denver, Colorado-based investment management company. The acquired stores are located in the West Texas markets of Midland, San Angelo and Abilene.

Since its inception in 2008, the Jack’s brand has become well-known in the West Texas region and has developed a loyal customer base in the markets the company serves.
