Haynes Boone Partner Kelli Norfleet and the deal team working on the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of Express Grain Terminals (EGT) has won the 2023 Mid-Size Company Turnaround/Transaction of the Year Award from the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) for an impressive restructuring after the bankruptcy of EGT.
“It has been an honor to represent our client through EGT’s difficult Chapter 11 case," said Kelli. "It is an added bonus to be recognized for it by TMA with the other advisors who worked hard to achieve a resolution of the case."
“The Turnaround/Transaction of the Year Awards are chosen based on a rigorous peer-review process by the volunteer TMA Awards Committee,” according to TMA. This process includes extensive diligence of each nominated case. As the judges review all components of each entry, they look for well-defined, measurable outcomes.” The award will be presented to the group at the 2023 TMA Annual Conference this October in San Francisco.
In addition to Kelli, the other advisors in the Express Grain Terminals Chapter 11 case included James Baring of CR3 Partners, Frank Childress of Baker Donelson, Craig Geno of Craig M Geno PLLC, Dennis Gerrard of CR3 Partners, David Houston of Burr & Furman, Eric Johnson of Spencer Fane, and Kristina Johnson of Jones Walker.
