Haynes and Boone Deals Named Finalists for Annual M&A Advisor Awards

The M&A Advisor has selected two deals handled by Haynes and Boone, LLP lawyers as finalists for the 18th Annual M&A Advisor Awards.

The awards will be presented during the 2019 M&A Advisor Summit in New York on Nov. 19.

The M&A Advisor selected the following deal as a finalist for “Financials Deal of the Year,” “Technology Deal of the Year ($100MM-$250MM),” and “M&A Deal of The Year ($100MM-$250MM)”:

Acquisition of 1st Global Inc. by Blucora Inc.

A Haynes and Boone team led by Dallas Partner Jan Sharry represented Blucora Inc. in its acquisition of 1st Global Inc., a tax-focused wealth management company based in Dallas, for $180 million.

She was assisted by Partners Ryan Cox and Dan Malone and Associates Michael Pritchard, David Lightstone and Omar Shariff. New York Partners Madelyn Calabrese and Daren Domina advised Blucora on regulatory issues. Partners Paul Amiel and Sakina Foster and Associate Laura Shapiro advised the client on financing for the transaction.

The M&A Advisor also selected the following for the “Private Equity Deal of the Year ($75MM-$100MM)

Acquisition of Spectrum Solutions and Go-2 Fulfillment by DW Healthcare Partners

Haynes and Boone lawyers represented a product development, custom designer, and manufacturer of medical-related containers and packaging solutions company in the sale of a majority of its equity.

The Haynes and Boone team was led by Partner Blaine Statham, with significant contributions by Partner Ken Bezozo, Associates Chase ProctorCatherine Cope, Brett Moore, Don Shiman and Counsel Lauren White.
