The Chambers Global guide of leading international lawyers has featured 15 Haynes Boone lawyers in its 2026 edition, an increase from last year’s 12 ranked Haynes Boone attorneys.
Chambers Global awarded first-time individual rankings to Partners Eduardo Corzo, Austin Elam and Glenn Kangisser. Spanning Mexico, the United States and the United Kingdom, these new rankings underscore the firm’s continued growth and expanding global presence.
Coinciding with the new attorneys ranked, Haynes Boone saw six practice groups recognized in the 2026 edition, with the firm’s Corporate/M&A Practice Group and Intellectual Property: Trademark, Copyright and Trade Secrets Practice Group debuting in the rankings this year.
One client celebrated the newly ranked Corporate/M&A Practice Group, noting, “Haynes Boone possesses knowledge of the legal and business aspects affecting our industry and provides easily understandable advice. I highlight its responsiveness and professionalism.”

The international directory continued its recognition of four esteemed Haynes Boone practice groups: Banking and Finance, Banking and Finance: Mainly Regulatory, Derivatives and Energy: Oil and Gas (Transactional).
Market sources applauded the Banking and Finance team, which again received two practice rankings, saying, “the team has very specialized and in-depth knowledge of financial services matters” and “the lawyers have an excellent understanding of underlying business aspects.”
The Haynes Boone Derivatives team was again ranked, with clients saying, “Haynes Boone has a knowledgeable bench who are accessible and incorporate business considerations into their advice.”

Global Individual Rankings
Chambers ranked Partner Rob Lauer, co-chair of the firm’s Franchise and Distribution Practice Group, among the top 18 lawyers globally in Franchising. This is Lauer’s 16th consecutive year ranked in Chambers Global.
U.S. Individual Rankings
Partner and Firm Co-Founder Michael Boone is ranked in the Corporate/M&A Practice, because he “has a longstanding corporate practice and is highly experienced across the full spectrum of transactional work.”
In the Intellectual Property - Patent Practice, Partner David McCombs ranks among the nation’s top lawyers, with Chambers Global noting that he “counts global technology giants among his client roster, regularly representing corporations in IPRs, patent litigation and appeals.”
The guide also ranks Partner Matthew Frankle as a U.S. leader in Derivatives, saying he “has experience advising on equity derivatives and comes particularly recommended for his in-depth knowledge of margin loans.”
New York Office Managing Partner Craig Unterberg ranks for the second year in Banking and Finance: Mainly Regulatory. Chambers Global says that Craig “impresses with his robust grounding in bank regulatory requirements, offering high-caliber compliance advice to clients on diverse issues.” Clients praise him saying, “He is very commercial and has good attention to detail” and added “Craig is excellent and gets into the trenches on deals.”
Partner Giorgio Bovenzi is also ranked in Banking and Finance: Mainly Regulatory, with Chambers Global touting that his “compliance counsel is informed by over two decades of legal experience. He is particularly recommended for his extensive knowledge of global banking laws.” Clients are grateful that “Giorgio Bovenzi is extremely knowledgeable in financial service regulation.”
Partner Hugh Tucker ranks in both Energy: Oil and Gas (Transactional) and Projects in the 2026 directory, where the guide says he is “noted for his robust oil and gas sector practice advising clients on development, finance, M&A and joint venture matters.”
Partner Austin Elam is newly ranked in Energy: Oil and Gas (Transactional), with clients saying, “Austin is very bright, sharp and good at navigating risk.”
Partner Jeremy Kennedy is also ranked in Energy: Oil and Gas (Transactional), with the guide noting that he is “experienced across an array of A&D transactions.”
Derivatives Partner Brian Sung is listed as an up-and-coming attorney who clients say is “highly sophisticated in the derivatives field; he is responsive and collaborative.” Chambers Global touts that Sung has a “burgeoning practice in the New York office” and is “regularly called upon by financial institutions and hedge funds for a variety of bespoke derivatives transactions.”
U.K. Individual Rankings
London Office Managing Partner Nick Davis is ranked as a leading U.K. lawyer in Energy and Natural Resources: Mining: International. Chambers Global highlights that “Davis has a respected corporate practice which includes representing mining companies in fundraisings and AIM listings. He is particularly active in the USA and Africa markets.”
Partner Melanie Willems, chair of the International Arbitration Practice Group in Haynes Boone’s London office, is ranked as a top U.K. lawyer in International Arbitration. One market source praised her, saying, “Melanie demonstrates a practical approach as she takes the time to really understand corporate objectives and strategy.” Chambers Global spotlights that she is “particularly adept at tackling complex claims for clients in the energy and hospitality sectors.”
Partner Glenn Kangisser joins the Chambers Global directory for the first time, ranking in Energy & Natural Resources: Oil and Gas.
