Haynes Boone has welcomed Partner Linton Bloomberg to its London office, adding a seasoned restructuring lawyer with more than 25 years of experience advising on complex restructurings, insolvencies and related disputes.
Bloomberg joins Haynes Boone from Reed Smith and previously practiced at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Jones Day. He advises financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, private equity sponsors and corporate boards on a broad range of restructuring matters, including creditor and debtor representations, out-of-court restructurings, insolvency litigation and financial services matters.
Heading up the London Restructuring Team and working alongside Partner Michael Mulligan in London, Bloomberg will help expand the reach of Haynes Boone’s United States-based Restructuring Practice Group in the United Kingdom, enhancing the firm’s ability to guide clients through restructuring matters that span multiple jurisdictions.
“The rise of Texas as a leading venue for major Chapter 11 cases coincides with the growing use of English restructuring plans by U.S.-linked businesses. These developments are bringing the UK and U.S. restructuring markets closer together,” Bloomberg said. “Haynes Boone is exceptionally well positioned in that space, and the opportunity to grow the team and help build an integrated cross-border restructuring practice at this point in the firm’s expansion in London is exciting and was a major draw.”
The firm's Restructuring Practice Group has represented clients in significant matters, including Saks Global and LYCRA in their respective successful Chapter 11 restructurings, and regularly advises on some of the market's most complex restructurings and distressed situations.
“Linton is widely recognized in the market for his work on high-profile, complex restructurings,” said London Office Managing Partner Nick Davis. “His experience enhances our ability to support clients on cross-border matters and strengthens the connection between our London and U.S. restructuring teams. This is an important strategic hire for the London office, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Bloomberg has played key roles in some of the most significant restructurings of the past two decades, including matters involving Lehman Brothers, MF Global, BHS and TGI Fridays. He also completed a secondment with the Bank of England's Financial Stability Division, where he advised on restructuring frameworks, financial stability matters and regulatory issues.
“Linton adds immediate depth to our restructuring bench,” said Haynes Boone Restructuring Chair Kelli Norfleet. “He has handled some of the most sophisticated matters in the market and brings a unique combination of restructuring, litigation and regulatory experience that strengthens how we support clients.”
Bloomberg is the latest addition to Haynes Boone's growing London office, which has continued to expand across key practice areas. Bloomberg is the sixth partner to join Haynes Boone’s London office in 2026, following International Disputes Chair Louise Woods, International Arbitration Partner Philipp Kurek, Real Estate Partner Angus Ford, Fund Finance Partner Jeremy Cross and Tax Partner Alexandra Ueno-Park.
The firm’s Restructuring Practice Group delivers solutions in high‑stakes bankruptcies and distressed situations. The firm’s nationally recognized team handles complex out‑of‑court restructurings and Chapter 11 cases across industries including energy, technology, retail, healthcare and manufacturing.
