Haynes Boone has expanded its global fund finance practice with the addition of Partner Jeremy Cross in London. Cross, a preeminent fund finance lawyer, brings more than 30 years of experience advising lenders and funds across a wide range of financing structures.
Cross joins the firm from Addleshaw Goddard, where he led the growth of its fund finance practice, significantly increasing its profile and revenue in the UK. He brings deep experience across the full spectrum of fund finance, including subscription facilities, net-asset-value (NAV) facilities, asset-backed structures and general partner and management company lines.
Throughout his career, Cross has advised leading global financial institutions and private capital sponsors on complex and evolving financing solutions. His practice spans both lender- and borrower-side representations, positioning him to support clients across the lifecycle of fund finance transactions and as the market continues to diversify into new products and structures.
“Jeremy is a highly respected fund finance lawyer with a sophisticated practice,” said Haynes Boone Global Head of Fund Finance Albert Tan. “His experience across the full range of fund finance products, combined with his strong relationships across Europe, makes him an excellent addition to our global team. Jeremy’s arrival further strengthens our ability to support clients on both sides of increasingly complex and cross-border transactions.”
Cross is the latest addition to the firm’s growing fund finance practice, following the addition of Partner Perry Hicks to the Charlotte office in late January. The Haynes Boone Fund Finance practice, led by Tan alongside Co-Heads Deborah Low and Brent Shultz, recently released its 2026 Fund Finance Annual Report, offering new insight into the estimated $1.25-1.75 trillion size of the global fund finance market and highlighting the continued growth of an industry.
Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Cross established and built the London fund finance practice at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and previously served as head of finance at SJ Berwin. Earlier in his career, he also gained in-house experience at HSBC, providing him with valuable insight into the perspectives of financial institutions.
“Jeremy’s arrival is another important step in the continued growth of our London office,” said London Office Managing Partner Nick Davis. “We have made significant investments in London over the past 18 months, and Jeremy’s addition enhances our ability to serve clients in key areas of demand. His experience and collaborative approach will be a great fit for our team and our clients.”
Cross is also a recognized thought leader in the fund finance space. He is the author of “A Working Guide to Fund Finance,” a widely used industry resource, and he serves on the advisory board of the Master of Law and Finance program at the University of Oxford.
“I am excited to join Haynes Boone at a time of strong growth for both the firm and the fund finance market,” said Cross. “The firm’s established platform combined with its global ambitions creates a compelling opportunity to further develop a leading fund finance practice. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to deliver practical, commercial solutions for clients navigating an increasingly dynamic market.”
Cross is the eighth partner to join in London since the beginning of 2025, further positioning Haynes Boone to capitalize on increasing demand across Europe and beyond. Haynes Boone’s London office continues to build momentum following its relocation to a larger space in the City of London at the end of 2025 to support continued growth. Now in its second decade, the office has expanded both headcount and capabilities while driving increased deal activity across key practice areas, including real estate, finance and energy.
