Shipping and Energy Newsletter Autumn 2023

This edition contains articles on offshore wind, the UK’s hydrogen strategy, decommissioning, contractual indemnities, exclusion clauses, termination of a shipbuilding contract, the Hong Kong Convention on ship recycling, the UK’s Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme and the UN High Seas Treaty.

We also include pieces from our dispute resolution team on the Singapore Convention on Mediation, the benefits of keeping contemporary records and the regulation of Artificial Intelligence. As well as writing on AI, James Brown has also recorded a podcast on the subject as part of the HB AI Chats series.

The start of the new academic year means that it is time for us to welcome our new trainee solicitors and to congratulate our previous trainee solicitors for qualifying as solicitors. This year, I am pleased to announce that Jack Spence has qualified into the Energy and Shipping Dispute Resolution Team.
